Anti-Wrinkle

Anti-wrinkle injections are used:

To prevent and reduce the appearance of wrinkles caused by dynamic movement of the face and static tightening of certain muscles as we age by reducing or immobilising the contraction of those muscles.

How does it work?
Anti-wrinkle is a small dose of a potent toxin called Botulinum which reduces and immobilises the use of muscles when its administered to specific areas. This then reduces, softens and sometimes diminished the wrinkles formed by movement and ageing; while preventing future fine lines, resulting in a more youthful appearance

How long does it last?
Results will depend on your metabolism. But generally, results can be seen for 3-4 months. However, this may be extended with regular treatments and maintenance.

When will you see results? Depending on the brand of anti-wrinkle used, you may start to see some results within a few days, however, you should see the full effect within 14 days of your treatment.

What are the side effects?
Side effects may include some redness and blebs (slightly raised area at the site of injection), ptosis such as brow or eyelid ptosis, or drooping which in some cases may be reversible with medicated eye drops, however this normally goes away when the toxin wears off. Spocking may result with too low a dosing on the tail end of your brow, however, this is easily treated at your 2 week follow up appointment with a small lateral dosage

Pain and Bruising
Everyone’s pain threshold is different. We do not normally use numbing creams as the time required for numbing creams to be effective, often is longer than the procedure itself. A very small needle is also used for the procedure to minimise pain. Bruising may occur, although not very common, as our faces are very vascular. However, this will subside within a few days.
